Free training of professional associations

Local Government Training Centre of Latvia from January to June 2011, has implemented 24-hour training programme "Decision-making process, conflicts of interest and attraction of financing for implementation of ideas." Training took place in Valmiera, Jekabpils Preili, Rezekne, Liepaja, Ventspils, Jaunpils and 3 groups was organised in Riga.

Overall, 189 professional societies and association members were educated. Participants range was very wide, from all over the Latvian, and each participant was able to assess organization's participation, as well as its role in the decision making process. Participants got acquainted with the conflict of interest and possible corruption risks, causes and their effects on society through participants' awareness and action patterns in different situations. While the training topic for EU funding, participants learned to write projects, as well acquainted with the EU financial instruments.

This publication is "Professional Associations Training of decision-making processes, conflict of interest and financial leverage for the realization of project ideas' (Contract No. 1DP/1.5.2.2.2./10/APIA/SIF/076/6) context. 93% of the project financed by the European Social Fund. The Local Government Tarining Centre of Latvia in cooperation with State Police is implementing Latvia-Swiss programme funded project "Children and Youth Offenders Individual Prevention Implementation in their residence" (2010.CH04/mic-178).

Project implementation starts on 1st January, 2011 and ends on 31st December, 2011.
